The Center participated in a September meeting with the Episcopal Health Foundation (EHF) held in College Station. This is one of several meetings that EHF held across Texas to gather community input related to health and community needs that would help shape EHF funding strategies. Dr. Jim Burdine, Ms. Angie Alaniz, and Ms. Katharine Nimmons attended the event which included community representatives from area healthcare and non-profit organizations.
EHF President, Ms. Elena Marks, and Director of Impact, Dr. Lexi Nolen, provided an overview of the foundation’s mission and core strategies that will guide their support of community initiatives aimed at improving the health of communities particularly, low income and uninsured individuals. Ms. Marks encouraged meeting attendees to collaborate and develop community initiatives for possible partnership with the Foundation.
The EHF was established in 2013 by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas as a non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing community health within the 57 counties of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.
