The Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Community Youth Development (CYD) & Services to At-Risk Youth (STAR) Programs Evaluation aims to provide the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) with research regarding the types of data that can be obtained and collected to show the outcomes and effects of these programs.
The CYD program evaluation will include a literature review of juvenile delinquency prevention strategies, interventions, protective factors, and youth development program frameworks. Evaluators will also create CYD Evaluation Plans and data collection instruments, support grantees in collecting data, and provide data analysis.
The STAR Program Evaluation will consist of two literature reviews – one of evidence-based programs that address issues commonly dealt with by STAR providers and one on assessment tools for the STAR population. Evaluators will also conduct a STAR network analysis and identify evaluation measurements, tools, and outcomes that can gauge the effectiveness of STAR services.
This project is a joint collaboration at Texas A&M University between AgriLife Research and the Center for Community Health Development.
